Canadian Power & Sail Oakville Squadron
You’re on the water and in trouble! Who do you call? How do you call? When do you call?
Do you really know, what you do not know?
Maritime radio is a great way to connect to information and assistance from your location on the water. Anyone on board using the radio must have a Restricted Operator’s Certificate (Maritime) (ROC(M)), so this course could be a family affair! In addition to emergency radio procedures you’ll discover the advantages of everyday operating techniques; the many uses of maritime radios, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases as well as Digital Selective calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (DSC/GMDSS).
This course is two evenings from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Course takes place on line for the lectures. Exam times and locations will be determined closer to the commencement of the courses.
Watch for future courses this upcoming season in October and December 2021 and in February and April 2022. The courses may be limited in size so that we can be assured of a quality experience for you.
NEW ADDED FEATURE
Our new VHF Radio simulator that would normally be used in this course will not be available due to covid restrictions.
Please note: Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to offer an on-line price for a Second Family Member.
